    I have three lovely daughters and no birthday is complete without a cake from Cakebread. And in between birthdays they always love to come in and ogle the beautiful cakes. Myself, I enjoy the coffee, the gourmet oil and vinegar samples, and the occasional amazing baked goods.

    The Cakebread bakery is so far the only place we found in the Comox Valley to make croissants that are a match for those we had back in France. They are very tasty, with the right amount of butter and fluffiness.

    We wanted a no fuss, simple wedding cake, and while it may have been understated on the outside, it was decadent on the inside. We chose non-traditional flavours (orange and white top layer and chocolate fudge on the bottom) with an ivory icing with a few pine cones, and the results were stunning.

    The chocolate croissants are also great but the sugar / cream on top of them are a bit too much.
